About

Born in 2021 from the merger of digital-lending pioneers Geru and Rebel, Open Co set out to dismantle Brazil’s notoriously expensive credit market by giving millions faster, fairer access to capital. The newly formed company needed one unmistakable brand to unite its legacy platforms and broadcast a clear promise of transparency and change.

We faced a dual challenge: capture Open Co’s disruptive spirit while signalling trust in a sector long dominated by traditional banks. High interest-rate spreads and entrenched incumbents left consumers sceptical of newcomers; the brand had to feel radical yet dependable from day one.

Our solution revolves around a deceptively simple rectangle—an abstract doorway that shifts perspective in motion, echoing the constant transformation fintech enables. Animated, the mark morphs and opens, conveying seamless access to credit; static, its clean geometry pairs with custom minimalist typography to anchor the brand in clarity and approachability. A vibrant, digital-native palette and modular graphic system ensure instant recognition across every touchpoint, from mobile apps to out-of-home media.

To prove the system’s flexibility, we brought it to life online. Built with Next.js and choreographed in Framer Motion, the new website turns scrolling into an immersive reveal of Open Co’s mission, layering micro-interactions that echo the logo’s shifting planes. The same motion principles extend to product UIs, presentation templates and social content, creating a unified experience wherever customers encounter the brand.

Since launch, the refreshed identity has underpinned a period of accelerated growth: within its first year Open Co attracted a US $115 million SoftBank-led investment—capital earmarked for technology and product expansion—and strengthened its position as Brazil’s largest unsecured-credit fintech.

Open Co’s brand now functions as an open invitation—reframing credit as an empowering gateway rather than a barrier, and signalling a future where financial wellbeing is accessible to all.
